Our poultry slaughterhouse is a renovated and upgraded Tobacco Bulk Barn. We received funding in 2016 to gut the 650 square foot building, install plumbing, electricity and bring in our state-of-the-art equipment making us the premier poultry processor in the state.

Dependable Poultry Processors was founded by farmer Ben Grimes of Dawnbreaker Farms. As a farmer himself he saw the great need that arose from the closing of Cool Hand Meats and sought to alleviate the dismay that many of his comrades felt by not knowing where and how they would process their birds. He is committed to carrying out the same care and quality with your birds as he is processing his own.

Dependable Poultry Processors was the first North Carolina poultry exempt operator to receive special exemption from the Director of Meat and Poultry to process other people's poultry.
